November 3rd, 2022 - Auditor's Office informational meeting on ARPA funding for Non-Profits at 11 a.m.

This is a big week for Porter County's American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) project:
--On Monday, The Auditor's office completed and submitted the third quarter "Project and Expenditure" required report to U.S. Treasury.
--On Tuesday, the Porter County Commissioners gave first-reading approval to  add seven more projects to the county's ARPA plan: the Memorial Opera House renovation, employee stipends, road funding, insurance, SWAT vehicle, veterans outreach, and county parks.
--On Thursday, the Auditor's office will host an informational session geared toward non-profits and other local government entities that have been awarded a share of the county's grant.

  American Rescue Plan Act

President Biden signed the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) into law on March 11, 2021. Among its many other provisions, the Act established the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (SLFRF), which provided $350 billion to states, local and Tribal governments across the country to support their recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Of this, the law includes $65.1 billion to county governments with the allocations based on population. Porter County government's award totals $33,096,066. The funds must be obligated by the end of 2024 and expended by the end of 2026.

Porter County's ARPA Projects

The following are the Porter County ARPA projects that have received final approval, meaning that each project 1) is included in a County Commissioner-adopted plan and 2) has received appropriation approval by the County Council. The projects are generally listed in chronological order upon clearing both required approvals.
