Current Porter County Advisory Level As Of 10/20/21
(Next Update On Wednesday, 10/27/21)
To ensure that our visitors and employees can conduct business in a safe and comfortable environment, Porter County government has established the following masking policy that is based on the current Porter County Color Advisory Level as determined by the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) color map.
BLUE Or YELLOW Advisory Level
Anytime that Porter County is at a BLUE or YELLOW Advisory Level, masks will be optional for visitors and employees who are fully vaccinated. For visitors and employees who are not vaccinated, wearing of masks is highly recommended.
ORANGE Or RED* Advisory Level
Anytime that Porter County is at an ORANGE or RED Advisory Level:
Visitors will be required to wear masks in county buildings.
Employees are required to wear masks in all common areas of their respective building.
Each Department Head or Officeholder may determine whether masks are required to be worn within their office space(s).
Any employee who has interactions with the public and cannot distance at least three feet away from the visitor must wear a mask UNLESS there is a protective barrier between them.
*Please note that further restrictions may be implemented if Porter County reaches a RED Advisory Level.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Per ISDH Guidelines, to go to a lower Advisory Level, a county must remain at a lower Weekly Two-Metric Score for two consecutive weeks.
ISDH updates the COVID Advisory Level once week on Wednesdays at approximately 11:00 AM CST. You can find the map HERE. Please be sure to click on Porter County on the map and choose “Advisory Level” in the map filter drop down menu.
