Respite House Presents The Bottle Rockets

Saturday, April 15

Join us for this special concert to benefit The Respite House! The Bottle Rockets are an American rock band formed in 1992. Considered to be leaders in the 90's alt-country/roots rock revival along with peers Uncle Tupelo, the Bottle Rockets are contemporary storytellers from Middle America. Their songs with strong social commentary reflects their influences of Woody Guthrie, Neil Young and The Replacements. As noted in the N.Y. Times by William Hogeland, the Bottle Rockets' song writing has been likened to Woody Guthrie's folk style in spirit, smarts and satire. The band's lyrics encapsulate the common experiences of the everyman, and are set to rousing and searing rock n' roll. Don't miss out on the opening act!! Meet the Blues Project, a soulful lesson in history, created and performed by 8th grade students from Ben Franklin Middle School. Respite House is a halfway house for men seeking recovery from the disease of addiction and alcoholism in Porter County.
