Changes In Hours Of Service For Environmental Health Division

The Porter County Health Department, in their efforts to meet our client’s needs, and to better serve our community, is implementing hours of service for the Environmental Division.

Commencing on Monday, March 16, 2020, “walk-ins services” will be available Monday through Friday, and ONLY between the hours of 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM. After 10:00 AM, anyone requiring a meeting with our environmental staff will need to contact the Environmental Secretary by calling (219) 465-3525 and select option 4 to either schedule an appointment or to see if an inspector will be available to meet with them.

The primary job of the inspectors is to be in the field conducting site inspection, hence the need to implement the scheduling of appointments. IF you are dropping off plans, plans with revisions, applications and/or registrations, please sign in at the front desk, where your submittals will be received. It is also recommended that you include any special instructions you want addressed.

We anticipate that the change will simplify serving you expeditiously, as serving your needs is our top priority.
